Happy Retirement Card

Happy Retirement Card

Yesterday, I met my family for lunch at Red Lobster (yum!) to celebrate my dad's 65th birthday and retirement. I can't believe it's already time for him to retire. As much as he likes to keep busy with work, he really does need time to relax and enjoy the fruits of his labour. Literally. He worked in construction nearly all his life. He even helped build parts of the Canadian National Railway when he was younger. Needless to say, as fit as he is, all that hard labour is starting to take its toll. So I am happy that he can finally relax and hope that enjoys his retirement.

Happy Retirement Card

This is the card I made for him using the Cricut Paper Pups cart. The pup is 3" and I used the blackout feature in white and the standard cut in a dark brown. I used a black pen to draw on the eyes since they were way to small to glue on. The example in the manual uses this same cut and added chalk for the spots. I thought it looked so cute that I decided to do the same. I used a light yellow from my Stampin' Up chalk set. The ribbon was from Michael's and the cream base with green shadow base are also from my Stampin' up set. The design paper is from Super Slab by Rob and Bob Studio (Provocraft), the same design paper I used for one of my favourite Baby Shower Cards. I also used my new Scotch ATG tape dispenser to adhere all the mattes. I threw on some bling I found at the dollar store. The sentiment is computer generated and is attached using pop dots that I also found at the dollar store, and I used the same one to attach the puppy.
